The Minnesota Timberwolves look to take a 2-0 against the Denver Nuggets Monday night. Below we will continue our NBA odds series with a Timberwolves-Nuggets prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the game.

The Timberwolves were able to take game one of this series, giving them five straight wins in the playoffs. Anthony Edwards dropped 43 points in the win, and grabbed seven rebounds. Both Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert notched double-doubles while Karl-Anthony Towns had 20 points of his own. As a team, the Timberwolves were able to shoot 52.4 percent from the field in the win.

The Nuggets dropped game one, and they put up less than 100 points in the loss. Nikola Jokic had 32 of those points while Michael Porter Jr had 2o. Jokic was also able to collect eight rebounds and nine assists in the loss. As a team, the Nuggets shot 46.7 percent from the field. For game two, the Nuggets remain at home, and their lineup is healthy.

Why The Timberwolves Could Cover The Spread/Win

Anthony Edwards has been the star for the Timberwolves, and he is the biggest reason they are undefeated in the playoffs. In the five games played, Edwards is averaging 33.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. With him playing this well, the Timberwolves are very, very hard to beat. If he can continue to play as he has been, the Timberwolves are going to take a commanding 2-0 lead Monday night.

The Timberwolves held the Nuggets to under 100 points in game one, which is huge. They were one of the top defensive teams in the NBA during the regular season, and that has continued into the playoffs. Minnesota has allowed just 102.4 points per game in their five playoff games this season. This defensive play is a big reason they are able to win games right now. If that continues, the Timberwolves will win this game.

Why The Nuggets Could Cover The Spread/Win

Denver got a big game out of Jokic in game one, but that is not a surprise. The Nuggets need their role players to step up. Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr are the two players they really need to step up. Porter Jr. had 20 points in game one while Murray put up 17. However, that is not enough. If those two can each drop 20 points, the Nuggets are going to win this game.

Denver needs to continue their defensive play. They allowed just 106 points in game one, which is usually enough to win. When the Nuggets allowed less than 110 points in the regular season, they were 37-7. Do not expect the Nuggets to score less than 100 points again in this one, and their defense should be good enough to help them win this game.

Final Timberwolves-Nuggets Prediction & Pick

This is going to be another good game. The Timberwolves are looking to remain perfect in the playoffs, but it will not be easy. However, I do like them to cover the spread. The Timberwolves are playing well, so I will be taking them to cover the spread.
