Why The Tigers Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Tigers are 22nd in the majors in runs scored while sitting 25th in batting average, 23rd in on-base percentage, and 26th in slugging percentage. Riley Greene has been great this year. He is hitting .266 on the year with a .391 on-base percentage. He has six doubles, a triple, and nine home runs. This has led to a team-leading 17 RBIS and 27 runs scored on the year. Greene has been amazing in the last week, with two doubles and four home runs, leading to five RBIs. He is also hitting .357 in the last week. Joining Greene with 16 RBIs is Mark Canha. Canha is hitting .248 on the year with a .367 on-base percentage. He has eight doubles and five home runs. This has led to 16 RBIS and 17 runs scored this year.

Matt Viering is hitting .261 in the last week. He has a triple and a home run in the last week, with four RBIS and three runs scored. Wencell Perez has been scoring a lot in the last week. In the last five games, he is hitting .316 with a .435 on-base percentage. He has two home runs and three RIBs. He has scored five times in the last week.

The Tigers are fourth in team ERA, fourth in WHIP, and fifth in opponent batting average. Reese Olson will take the mound for the Tigers in this one. He is 0-4 on the year but has a 2.70 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP. Last time out, he went five innings without giving up a run, but the Tigers took the loss. He has given up just four earned runs in his last 23.1 innings of work but has received three losses and a no-decision.

Why The Guardians Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Guardians are seventh in the majors in runs scored this year while sitting 13th in batting average, 13th in on-base percentage, and 12th in slugging.  Jose Ramirez is playing great this year. He is hitting .230 on the year with a .278 on-base percentage. He has five doubles, a triple, and seven home runs in that time. It has led to 28 RBIS and 23 runs scored this year. Meanwhile, Josh Naylor is second on the team in RBIs this year. He comes in hitting .275 with a .360 on-base percentage. Naylor has seven doubles and eight home runs, leading to 26 RBIs. He has also scored 16 times.

Scoring a lot is something Steven Kwan is doing. He has scored 28 times this year. He is hitting .353 on the year with a .407 on-base percentage. Kwan has six doubles, two triples, and three home runs. This has led to just 11 RBIS, but the 28 runs scored. Meanwhile, Andres Gimenez has scored 18 times this year while also driving in 18 runs. He is hitting .270 on the year with a .338 on-base percentage.

Guardians pitching is eighth in team ERA while sitting 11th in WHIP and 11th in opponent batting average. It will be Tanner Bibee on the mound in this one. He is 2-1 on the year with a 4.46 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. Bibee has been solid this year but struggled last time out. He has up six runs in five innings of work, taking the loss in the game.

Final Tigers-Guardians Prediction & Pick

This should be a great game with two solid teams. Overall, the Guardians have the better offense, and do great at generating runs with their stolen bases. The Tigers have the better pitching overall, and the better pitcher going in this one. Still, Reese Olson has not been able to get run support this year. That will continue in this one. Take the Guardians to win.
