Legacies are often passed down from one generation to another in sports families. LeBron James is trying to do the same with Bronny and Bryce. Ken Griffey Sr. did the same with his son and both of them went on to have legendary careers. The same goes for Vladimir Guerrero Sr., Dell Curry, the Mannings, the Earnhardts, and Tkachuks. Golf's royalty has Tiger Woods. His son, Charlie Woods, is creating his own legacy on the PGA Tour. But, the multiple-time Masters Tournament winner has a daughter, Sam Woods, who is not quite interested in following in his footsteps.

Sam Woods had golf around her throughout her life. His dad was at the peak of his prime winning countless PGA Tour rounds alongside the annual trip to Augusta such that he gets another shot at The Masters. However, she does not have the inclination to follow her father or brother at all. Tiger Woods unveiled why this was the case in his latest appearance, via The Today Show.

“She has, I think, a negative connotation to the game because at that time… when she was growing up, golf took daddy away from her. I had to pack, and I had to leave and I was gone for weeks and there was a negative connotation to it. So we developed our own relationship, our own rapport that’s outside of golf that we do things that don’t involve golf,” the PGA Tour legend declared.

Tiger Woods continues to support her daughter while she does the same. It was Sam who inducted his dad into the World Golf Hall of Fame. She even had a funny but heartwarming quip during that ceremony.

“We didn't know if you'd come home with two legs or not. Now, you're not only about to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but you're standing here on your own two feet. This is why you deserve this. You're a fighter, you've defied the odds every time,” she said.

This does not mean that Sam does not care about golf. The Masters tournament winner has gotten his daughter to caddy for him in the PNC Championship's Pro-Am. She also cares about being there for her father during PGA Tour events and other things that involve the sport. However, she has developed a liking for soccer more than any other physical activity. Tiger Woods gets to support her in these endeavors.

His other child, Charlie Woods, is more involved with the dream of cracking the PGA Tour. He has taken quite a liking to being a professional but that does not mean that there are not any hardships that they have experienced.

“Meanwhile, my son and I, we do everything golf-related. It’s very different. He’s 15 years old. It’s what happens — it’s what teenagers go through,” Woods said. “They’re trying to find their own place in the world,” he declared.

There might be a stark contrast between Sam's and Charlie Woods' interests. But, one thing is for sure. Their father is always going to be there to help them every step of the way.
