The Oklahoma City Thunder made waves when they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers by 24 points last Saturday. But Thunder head coach Billy Donovan is not resting on his laurels. According to Erik Horne of The Oklahoman, Donovan has something to say regarding the film of the 148-point game against the Cavaliers.

“Just because you put up a lot of points in a game, it may or look or appear from a ratings standpoint it was an explosive night, and it was. But I still think we can get better and build off of what we did in the game.”

It was an explosive outing alright. But it was also a balanced attack. Paul George led the Thunder with 36 points, followed by Carmelo Anthony with 29 points, Steven Adams with 25 points and Russell Westbrook with 23 points.

But Donovan's comment should be appreciated. Indeed, the team should not think too highly of themselves after such a win and focus on improving. After all, the team is just the 5th seed in the West. The Thunder will have to go through the likes of the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs for conference dominance.

It's also important to consider that the team has notable losses to teams that are not exactly in the playoff race, such as the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and Orlando Magic.

Also, the Cavaliers are known for their lack of defensive effort, so that may have also contributed to the high number of points scored in the game.

But even though Donovan has his inhibitions, he is surely happy that the team is starting to show some promise after a relatively shaky start in the season.
