It has become almost a nightly habit for the Dallas Mavericks: Cooper Flagg filling the lane before gracefully rising for a big slam.
That's exactly what happened in the second quarter against the New Orleans Pelicans at Smoothie King Center on Monday. After grabbing the rebound, Flagg dished the ball to Ryan Nembhard, who immediately knew what to do. He passed it back to Flagg, who then threw down a one-handed jam.

It was a sight to behold.
Flagg's availability against the Pelicans was initially in question due to a back injury, but obviously, he was able to suit up. In fact, after his big dunk, it is safe to presume that he is feeling quite okay.
Flagg has found his groove over the past few weeks, even setting several rookie records, including a longstanding one of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.
The top overall pick has repeatedly acknowledged that he still has a lot to learn, but his veteran teammates have already praised his work ethic and mental toughness, especially for someone who just turned 19 years old.
It helps that Flagg is surrounded by proven stars like Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, and Klay Thompson
The fast-rising hotshot will be a fixture for the Mavericks in the years to come, and this early in his career, he is already showing everyone that he will be a nightly problem.
As of writing, the Mavericks are leading the Pelicans, 63-57, at halftime. Flagg has seven points, three rebounds, three assists, and one block.
