Star Hawks guard Trae Young has been an offensive force for Atlanta during his first few years in the NBA, and he is making a big agency move that will a have large impact on his career. Young announced that he is leaving Klutch Sports for CAA (Creative Artists Agency), per ClutchPoints.

Klutch Sports is an organization headed by LeBron James' agent Rich Paul. In addition to James, the agency represents many high-profile athletes including Draymond Green, A'ja Wilson, and Jaylen Hurts. Klutch is a highly reputable organization, but Young felt it was best to transition to CAA.

CAA is an agency that helps artists across many fields navigate their careers. Their basketball sector is held in high regard.

“CAA Basketball is in the best position to help our clients and their families accomplish their goals, from draft day to post-career planning. Our agents work with players — from young talent to established veterans — to support all of their career ambitions with opportunities that extend far beyond the sport,” the opening statement on the CAA Basketball site read.

Like Klutch, CAA represents several esteemed athletes including the following: Devin Booker, Paul George, Jalen Brunson, Chris Paul, Donovan Mitchell, D'Angelo Russell, and Zion Williamson. Trae Young looks to add to the list of the agency's numerous clients.

Hopefully, Young's move helps him as he navigates the next chapter of his career.

Young's team did not make the 2024 NBA Playoffs. They earned a seed in the Play-In tournament but were bounced by the Chicago Bulls. Young and teammate Dejounte Murray displayed stout regular season production, but in the end, it did not result in postseason success.

How will the Hawks proceed amid another subpar showing?

The Hawks have options ahead of 2024-25

Both Trae Young and Dejounte Murray averaged over 20 points and five assists per game during the 2023-24 regular season. They are one of the most talented backcourts in the NBA. Still, the duo has been heavily mentioned in trade rumors due to their team's middling success.

So if Young or Murray are not the answer, then who is? The solution is complex, but the Hawks could make a move for a piece that could take the team to the next level.

Is Brandon Ingram the solution to the Hawks' problems?

After the New Orleans Pelicans were swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Hawks were named the betting favorite to land Brandon Ingram in a trade. Should the Pelicans part ways with Ingram, Atlanta can swoop in and get a massive contributor.

Ingram is one of the best offensive players in the league. He knows how to get to his spots, and once he warms up, he is hard to stop. His mid-range game is a nightmare for opposing defenses. Furthermore, he can stretch the floor respectably. Ingram shot 35.5 percent on three-pointers in 2023-24.

The star forward would certainly boost Atlanta's scoring, but offense is not the only thing he provides.

Ingram can function as a secondary playmaker and has the physical tools necessary to defend multiple positions. He comes off a season where he averaged 5.7 assists per game, just .1 less than his career-high. Moreover, at 6-foot-8 with a 7-foot-3 wingspan, Ingram is a tough defender to score on.

Of course, it would cost a fair amount to land the star forward. Yet, the Hawks might have the ability to retain Young and move other assets to pair him with Ingram.

All in all, despite the down year, Trae Young  and company will find a way to continue to get better and climb the Eastern Conference.
