After weeks of anticipation, ESPY night is here, and the WWE‘s dedicated award, the “WWE Moment of the Year” award, has officially been handed out for the, well, WWE moment of the Year.

But who could it be? Was the award headed to the Pat McAfee show? Or how about back to Victoria to the home of the Texas Rattlesnake? Could the award instead ride home in the sidecar of the Undertaker's “American Badass” chopper? Well, as it turns out, none of the above; no, the award is actually heading to the Nightmare Factory in Georgia to forever rest on the mantle of the “Son of a son of a Plumber,” Cody Rhodes.

Yup, though he didn't return to the ring for the first time in two decades or have to sell for the owner of the company, Rhodes' defection from AEW and return to the WWE was notable enough to make the voting population cast their ballots into the “American Nightmare's” box.

And guess what? No one was more excited about it than Mr. McAfee, who accepted his loss with grace.

Goodness, talking about losing in style.

Now granted, maybe McAfee is just being a good company man; he's about to wrestle “Bumass” Barron Corban at SummerSlam after months of on-mic bullying, and considering Rhodes won't be back in the ring until Christmas time at the earliest, it's nice to give Brandi's husband a reason to put on a suit, talk some wrestling, and leave the house – even if he'll have to worry about a Seth Rollins sledgehammer shot to the pec at every turn.
