Though she's technically been a member of NXT since 2022, Roxanne Perez is still one of the youngest members of the WWE Universe, with the 22-year-old somehow younger than many of the NIL athletes the promotion has signed up in the 2024 class.

And yet, despite her age, Perez is one of the most experienced performers still in NXT, with the Lorado native having now held the NXT Women's Championship twice, the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship twice, and the Ring of Honor Women's Championship once, the first performer to ever hold that belt, to be exact.

If Perez was drafted onto SmackDown or RAW last week, no one would have batted an eye, but because she was a belt holder at the time of the WWE Draft, she was allowed to stay, which, in the opinion of Booker T, is very good news, because even at this level of success, “Rok-C” is still trying to learn how to become the best wrestler she can be, even as her legacy continues to grow.

“Man, first of all, I love it. I watch her in the ring and she’s so leaps and bounds ahead of her years. It’s amazing to watch her talent, her growth. We’ve gotten to the point now to where Roxanne Perez could come up to me, and she’d go, “What did you see?” And I go, “I didn’t see nothing.” I can’t critique her. I can’t critique her anymore. I can’t find those holes in the game,” Booker T explained to Forbes.

“For me, Roxanne Perez, just say, for instance, if I do a film study, and it might be 20 guys or 10 girls on the Zoom call, and you’ll see Roxanne Perez pictured in there as well. She still wants knowledge. She still wants to sit under the learning tree. She still wants to be better. For me, I love that. I’m sure she’s going to be making the trip to the main roster real soon, and it’s going to be one of those days where it’s not going to be my best day, but it’s going to be my greatest day at the same time. For me, I’m loving what Roxanne Perez is doing. She started with me when she was 16 years old, and if she left the business today, she would have a legacy. It’s amazing.”

Will Perez be on the main roster by this time next year? Yes, yes, 100 percent yes, but until that day eventually comes, expect the “Prodigy” to keep pushing for even more knowledge in her pursuit of becoming one of the best to ever do it.

Roxanne Perez still wants to wrestle AJ Lee before she retires.

Even if Roxanne Perez's potential in WWE is seemingly limitless, that doesn't mean she still doesn't have a few dream matches she'd like to work with before she retires, including one against a performer who hasn't worked a match in WWE since all the way back in 2015: AJ Lee.

“We're trying. Working hard. You know, hopefully, one day she'll come back, and maybe we can all do something together. That would be like my dream. I can't retire until I have a match against AJ Lee, so… I can't be 80 years old wrestling either. She's great,” Roxanne Perez explained on Ring the Belle via Fightful.

“I met her when I was 12 years old, and I was crying. I was a fan and I was telling her, I'm going to be a wrestler one day. She was so supportive and so great. Then I met her a couple of years later when I was with Ring of Honor. She remembered me from that time, and I remember she told me, she said, ‘I hope you blow me out of the water and everyone forgets about me.' That was like so special to me because she's someone that I looked up to so much. So to have her tell me like, you know, you go ahead and carry my legacy and make it greater. That was like one of the best things I could have ever heard from one of my heroes.”

Could Perez actually wrestle a match with Lee in the future? Sure, her husband, CM Punk, currently works for WWE, and she just spent a few years working for Women of Wrestling as a producer backstage, so there are at least a few connective tissues that could bring her back to the promotion. And the best part? Because Perez is only 22, she can effectively play the long game and wait out Lee's eventual return, as at this point, she has nothing but time.
