U2 members Bono and The Edge reunited with Martin Garrix recently in the Netherlands. They enjoyed a meal at Carletto, an Italian restaurant, the spot revealed. The trio were there to attend Anton Corbijn's exhibit at the Cobra Museum.

In a social media post from Carletto, Bono, The Edge, and Garrix are seen having fun. A video is first shared on their story, with Bono drawing on the wall before signing it. It almost resembles the drawing on the cover of his memoir, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story.

The second post is a picture of the trio with a fourth person. It's unknown who they are, but it's likely they work at the restaurant or at least was eating there while they were.

This was a fun reunion for the trio. Bono and The Edge previously collaborated with Garrix on “We Are the People.” The song was co-written by Bono, Garrix, and Simon Carmody, with The Edge serving as a composer.

The song was the official song of the UEFA Euro 2020. They also performed a rendition of the song virtually at the Studio Olimpico for the tournament.

Martin Garrix is one of the biggest DJs in the world. He gained notoriety for his singles “Animals,” “In the Name of Love,” and “Scared to Be Lonely.” Garrix has also released four EPs, the most recent being Bylaw in 2018, and one studio album, Sentio, in 2022.

What is U2 up to?

From the looks of these posts, Bono and The Edge are enjoying their post-Sphere vacation. The duo teamed with Adam Clayton and Bram van den Berg to play 40 nights at the Sphere in Las Vegas. Drummer Larry Mullen Jr. was not present for the shows, sitting out due to health issues.

This was the first time that U2 had performed a concert residency. They were also the inaugural band to play the Sphere venue, The opening show took place on September 29, 2023, and the band played 39 more dates through March 2, 2024.

U2 focused on their 1991 album, Achtung Baby, during these shows. They played the album in its entirety each night of the residency.

Bono has been extremely busy as of late. In 2022, he released his memoir, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story. He subsequently embarked on a solo tour.

U2 then released Songs of Surrender, the third installment in the “Songs of” series. This followed Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience. The album was made up of 40 re-arranged and re-recorded songs from the band's back catalog. It tied in nicely with Bono's memoir.

Now that the Sphere run is over, U2 has an open canvas. We'll see what Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. are cooking up for the future.
