The Los Angeles Clippers will try to keep their season alive as they play the Dallas Mavericks on Friday for Game 6 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals. We're here to share our NBA odds series, make a Clippers-Mavericks Game 6 prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Mavericks destroyed the Clippers 123-93 in Game 6 to force a possible elimination game. Initially, the Mavs built a 56-46 halftime lead. The Mavericks then pulled away in the third quarter and blew the Clippers out of the water.

Luka Doncic exploded for 35 points and 10 assists while shooting 14 for 26. Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving added 14 points. Derrick Jones Jr. had 12 points while shooting 5 for 7 while also blocking three shots. Additionally, the bench had a spark from Maxi Kleber, who had 15 points while shooting 5 for 7, and Dereck Lively, who had 12 points while making all five shots.

Paul George led the Clippers with 15 points and 11 rebounds while shooting just 4 for 12. Also, Ivica Zubac had 15 points while shooting 7 for 8. Terance Mann had 11 points while shooting 5 for 10. However, James Harden struggled, scoring seven points while shooting 2 for 12, including an ugly 1 for 7 from the triples. Norman Powell had 14 points off the bench. Unfortunately, the Clippers could not do much without Kawhi Leonard, who continued to sit out with a knee injury.

The Mavericks shot 54 percent from the floor, including 35.9 percent from the triples. Conversely, the Clippers shot only 37.9 percent from the hardwood, including only 25.7 percent from beyond the arc. The Clippers lost despite winning the board battle 45-40, including 14 offensive rebounds. Somehow, the Clippers did not block a single shot while the Mavs had six. The Clippers also turned the ball over 13 times.

Why The Clippers Could Cover The Spread/Win

Leonard will likely not play again. Sadly, it's been the same story for him and the Clippers. They do their best to try and keep him healthy throughout the entire season, including resting him on back-to-back days. In the end, it becomes pointless because he suffers an injury regardless. It means the Clippers need the rest of the team to step up.

George has been inconsistent in this series. At first, he was mediocre in Game 1. George was excellent in Game 2. Then, he played awful in Game 3. George bounced back in Game 4 with a solid game. Finally, he played absolutely terrible in Game 5. Zubac needs to win the battles. Significantly, he is not doing his part on the rim. The Clips need Zubac to do his part on the boards. Also, they need him to cut down on fouls and block some shots.

Harden needs to make shots. Ultimately, he must bounce back from a terrible game. Harden also needs to reduce his turnovers after throwing the ball away four times. Likewise, he has to find his shot quickly. Russell Westbrook has to be better after going 2 for 11 in Game 5. Then, he needs to fight for every possession.

The Clippers will cover the spread if they can convert their shooting chances. Then, they cannot let Doncic and Irving run free.

Why The Mavericks Could Cover The Spread/Win

Doncic can do it all. He can shoot, pass, and defend. Therefore, it is incredibly challenging to stop him. Doncic also has hit 30 points in 3 of 5 games. Amazingly, he is thriving despite not hitting three-pointers. Imagine how good he would be if he could actually get hot from beyond the arc.

Irving is explosive. Remarkably, he had 40 points in Game 4. While he did not match it in Game 5, he has shown he can take over a game when the Mavs need him to. Look for him to be the second option behind Doncic. Meanwhile, Jones is a secret weapon who can score and block shots.

But Daniel Gafford needs more blocks. Substantially, he has shown the capability of doing it and the Mavs know he can. P.J. Washington Jr. must bounce back. Unfortunately, he went 1 for 7 in Game 5. But it did not hurt the Mavs because the bench was solid.

The Mavericks will cover the spread if they continue shooting the ball well and forcing turnovers. Then, they must also win the board battle.

Final Clippers-Mavericks Game 6 Prediction & Pick

When a team loses by 30 points at home in a playoff game, it usually feels deflating. Not surprisingly, the Clippers look like an absolutely defeated team. They failed to win Game 5 without Leonard and found themselves on the brink of elimination. Now, the Clippers need to play the best game of their lives to stay alive. We don't see that happening. Right now, the Mavericks look like they are firing on all cylinders. Look for that to continue as the Mavericks do everything they can to blow the Clippers out of the water.
