Twitch streamer known as JimMashima recently trolled online ranked with a Tekken 8 bot. The bot is specifically designed for Eddy Gordo as it enables the Capoeira master to spam one button. What makes Eddy an annoying matchup to opponents is the fact that players can easily break out a powerful combo simply by hitting 3 (X on PlayStation and A on Xbox). JimMishima wanted to see how far he could go in online ranked simply by spamming the three button.

Given how the Tekken 8 bot did the work itself, JimMashima often left the stream running while he went out for work. According to the streamer's chatbot, the AI-controlled Eddy peaked at Eliminator rank. That's barely scratching the surface in online ranked, however, it's still impressive for a bot to climb 15 ranks. The stream ran for six days straight until JimMashima decided to end the experiment.

A Reddit user recently broke down how the streamer's experiment went and provided exact numbers. According to them, the Eddy bot had a total playing time of 142 hours and 53 minutes. Within that time frame, the bot participated in a total of 3,393 matches and won 1,115 of them. That gives it a win rate of 32.8%. In addition, the Tekken 8 bot's longest streak was nine wins.

Tekken 8 Bot Proved Eddy is Broken

When Eddy Gordo first arrived in Tekken 8, he immediately left a strong impression and not the good kind. The majority of the game's community immediately hated him as they felt that his build was too broken. One major reason why fans think that way is due to the level of difficulty it takes to play as the Capoeira master. Over the years, Eddy was already seen as a beginner-friendly character. However, in the latest installment, the Brazilian fighter seems too easy to use.

As a result, fans are taking their frustrations to Reddit and Steam as they rant about why Bandai Namco needs to fix Eddy. Many are complaining about how he can easily get out of sticky situations simply by sidestepping. Then his movement is unpredictable.

In previous installments of Tekken, Eddy had a slight advantage over some fighters because of his versatility when throwing out kicks. He could either go high or low instantaneously leaving opponents wondering what could be next. However, in Tekken 8, the Capoeira master's movements are more difficult to read. There are particular stances wherein it seems like he's about to hit opponents with a high or mid-kick but ends up throwing a low kick.

Part of Tekken's core is being able to predict your opponent's next move. But with Eddy bypassing character predictability, the community can't simply embrace such a broken feature. Unfortunately, based on the latest patch, it appears that the developers don't plan on nerfing him anytime soon. They made some adjustments to his build, however, it was more of balancing his power rather than powering him down. With that in mind, players will need to deal with Eddy's antics until further notice.
