Ryan Gosling has had a bone to pick with the poster of La La Land. Luckily, it has been fixed.

Talking to the Wall Street Journal (via Variety), Gosling was asked if there were any roles he wished he could redo. He then voiced his displeasure with La La Land. It came down to the poster, which he wishes had a “cooler” hand pose.

“La La Land,” Gosling revealed. “There is a moment that haunts me. We’re dancing, Emma and I, and I didn’t know this would become the poster for the movie. We were supposed to have our hands up, and I thought it would be cool to put my hand [more flat] even though everyone told me it wasn’t cool. I was sure it was cooler.”

He continued, “Now when I look at it, and I have to see it all the time, you know what would’ve been cooler…[the intended pose],” It just killed the energy that way. I call it La La Hand.”

Luckily for Gosling, the official Facebook account for the film posted an updated poster. It features Gosling's hand edited to be holding a cup. “Fixed it for you, Ryan Gosling,” the post's caption read.

What is La La Land?

La La Land was the follow-up to Whiplash for Damien Chazelle. Gosling plays a jazz piano player and Emma Stone plays an aspiring actress. They meet and fall in love as they follow their dreams in Los Angeles.

Suffice it to say, the film was a hit. La La Land grossed over $440 million on a budget of just $30 million. At the Oscars, the film received a massive 14 nominations. However, it's likely most known for the Best Picture snafu. Faye Dunaway presented the award and incorrectly named La La Land as the Best Picture winner. Moonlight was the actual winner.

Still, La La Land took home six awards. Among these were Best Original Score, Best Production Design, Best Actress (Emma Stone), and Best Director (Chazelle).

From there, Damien Chazelle would reunite with Gosling for First Man. The Neal Armstrong biopic won Best Visual Effects at the Oscars. Chazelle also wrote and directed Babylon in 2022.
